Nashville's Metro Government will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with a free afternoon event at Public Square Park on April 6, and live music, naturally, will be a big part of the festivities.
Local talents set to perform at the event include bluegrass stars Sam Bush and Del McCoury, the Nashville Symphony and a cast of Nashville R&B and soul greats: Levert Allison, Buzz Cason, Clifford Curry, Mac Gayden, Marion James, Robert Knight, the McCrary Sisters, the Valentines, and Charles Walker, with a house band led by Jimmy Church.
The party takes place from noon to 3 p.m. on April 6 at the Metro Historic Courthouse Public Square, and will also feature historical exhibits, local food, beers, vendors and artisans, kids' activities and more.
